Yes, I had this problem too.. But I noticed that the part that did not
compile, was actually the stdio emulation libraries, which is designed
for BSD like stdio routines, Linux's STDIO is completely different
and hence will not compile..
*BUT*... PERL doesn't need this library for sfio support, and the
standard sfio library compiled fine.. So I just hand installed
the library and headers, and compiled up 5.003_16

Runs like a charm... My only problem is with Apache's FastCGI support
But Ill put that in my next message.
