I received an updated version of mod_fastcgi.c form Alan Sparks, thanks
Alan. The version of mod_fastcgi.c available at 
http://www.fastcgi.com/servers/apache
is for Apache 1.2b2. I am using 1.2b7.
Maybe someone at FastCGI can make the update avaliable.
