I have successfully compiled perl5.004 with sfio97 and later installed the FCGI 0.28. All this happened on Solaris 2.5.1. The trick to getting perl to recognize sfio is to copy: $SFIO_HOME/include/ast_common.h $SFIO_HOME/include/sfio.h $SFIO_HOME/include/sfio_t.h To /usr/include and copy $SFIO_HOME/lib/libsfio.a $SFIO_HOME/lib/libvdelta.a to /usr/lib. Then simply run the perl Configure script like normal. It will ask you is you want to use the Perl IO abstraction layer: Answer YES. It will ask you if you want to use SFIO: Answer YES. After you have completely built perl you can do a perl -V to see if the sfio module was successfully included. If it was, go ahead and install the FCGI mod. Thats it! You will most likely get compiler generated warnings referencing the macro 'va_copy' in ast_common.h. You can ignore these. Phil -- G. Philip Reger Mgr. Systems Operations PeopleLink, Inc. - Connect.
